A New Purpose for a Historic Building
For more than 70 years, the building at 740 Rangitikei Line played an important role in New Zealand's agricultural industry as the home of Sheep & Wool New Zealand Ltd. Today, the site has been given a new lease on life as the Palmerston North training headquarters for AllTrain Heavy Machinery and Equipment Training Ltd.
Since moving into the former Sheep & Wool New Zealand building in January 2025, the AllTrain team has transformed the space into a practical training hub, supporting businesses, workers, and individuals throughout Manawatū and beyond.
From Wool to Workforce Training
The Palmerston North site has become a dedicated base for both classroom and practical AllTrain training. Its central location makes it accessible for clients throughout the wider Manawatū region, while also supporting training programmes delivered across the lower North Island.
For Maria and the wider AllTrain team, operating from a building that has played such a significant role in New Zealand's history feels fitting. While the work taking place inside may have changed from wool and agriculture administration to driver training and workplace education, the building continues to support New Zealand industries and the people who keep them moving.
Supporting The Manawatū
As demand for skilled, qualified operators continues to grow, AllTrain remains committed to providing practical, hands-on training that helps individuals build confidence, gain qualifications, and create new opportunities for themselves and their communities.
