Class 4 Licence
This course covers Logbook and Class 4 Theory and practical test.
Class 4: Unit Standard 17576 (7 credits).
Logbook: Unit Standard 24089 (5 credits).
Course Details
This is an accelerated course run over 2-3 days (1 -2 days if you hold a current Logbook certificate).
Course content, Theory & Practical testing includes
DAY 1
(1 day) Logbook
Required unless you can provide an original copy of your certificate, which is no older than 12 months. If older than 12 months please contact us for further information.
DAY 2 - Day 3
(Half-day + 2 hours)
Class 4 US17574 Theory, Theory test and then a practical test. The theory is half-day and then there is an approx. 2-hour pre-drive and test.
NB: You may be required to complete your drive on Day 3.

What you need to know
Points to note
You must come to the course with your Class 4 learner licence.
To obtain your class 4 learner, you need to:
Hold your Class 2 for at least 6 months if under 25yrs or 3 months if over 25yrs.
Go to VTNZ or AA and pay the fee for the learner licence. If you have completed a DL9 medical in the last 5 years NZTA may have a record in their system.
VTNZ or AA will issue with a temporary licence.
Relevant facts
A Class 4 licence enables you to drive a rigid vehicle with a gross laden weight of more than 18,000kg.
This course can be run on or off-site.
Truck hire is an additional approx $230+gst.
