Overhead Gantry Crane Operation
Use a radio remote or pendant controlled gantry crane to lift and place regular loads.
Unit Standard 3800 (10 Credits).
This is a 1 day course running from approximately 8am-4pm.

Course content Theory & Practical testing includes
Demonstrate knowledge of using a radio remote or pendant controlled gantry crane.
Demonstrate knowledge of radio remote or pendant controlled gantry crane components, equipment, and attachments.
Sling, lift, travel, and unload or place regular loads using a radio remote or pendant controlled gantry crane.
Park radio remote or pendant controlled gantry crane and store equipment.
Carry out daily and weekly operator maintenance of a radio remote or pendant controlled gantry crane.

What you need to know
Points to note
You MUST have completed the pre-requisite course of 30072 (Demonstrate knowledge of Slinging Regular Loads) and hold this as a Units Standard, proof of this will be required in order to progress to 3800, validated via Logbook (min 40 lifts).
All equipment used needs to be in a good working condition and have current certification. This includes Cranes and any lifting equipment such as slings, chains, lift bars etc.
Relevant facts
Previous experience is essential.
The student will receive a certificate to acknowledge their completion of the Unit Standard and credits will be registered and logged on their Record of Achievement.
