We deliver forklift operators training and forklift licence training in Palmerston North, Feilding, Whanganui, and greater Manawatu region. We also provide courses in Rotorua, Auckland and throughout New Zealand.

 

Gain knowledge and skills to safely use a Powered Industrial Lift Truck (Forklift).

Unit Standard 10851 (7 Credits).

NB: Credits are not registered unless requested, additional fees apply.

This course runs from approximately 8am – 2pm.

 

Course Details

Covering Driver theory

  • Health & Safety at work Act 2015.

  • Causes of Accidents & Notifiable events.

  • Principles of using and Loading a forklift.

  • Weights of Forklifts and Axel Loads.

  • Forklift controls and variations.

  • Safety checks, rules and best practices.

  • Safely driving and travelling with loads and things to be aware of.


Practical testing

  • Pre vehicle safety checks.

  • Stacking and de-stacking.

  • The safe operation of the equipment being used.

  • Re-fuelling, LPG, Electric and Diesel.

  • Safe parking and storage.

What you need to know


FAQ

  • Yes, we provide New Zealand wide forklift training programmes, check out our booking page for more information.

  • To sign up for New Zealand forklift courses, visit our booking page here.

  • An F endorsement (Forklift Endorsement) is required if you drive a forklift on the road. You will also need to hold a full licence to attain this endorsement.

  • An OSH Endorsement (Forklift Operator’s Certificate) is an operator’s forklift certificate that covers the core theory and basic driving competence that is required to operate a forklift.

  • A forklift training refresher in New Zealand is required every 3 years and no more than 3 years and 3 months after. If this is the case, the ‘Full’ course is required to be re-sat.

Points to note

If successful in passing, the attendee is deemed to be competent and is then allowed to operate a powered industrial lift truck (forklift).

The trainee will be issued with a certificate/licence that is verification that they have passed the course.

A refresher is required at least every 3 years and no more than 3 years, 3 months after which time the ‘Full’ course is required to be re-sat.
