Nominal and rated capacity-load centre-load charts-centre of gravity-stability triangle-maximum mast lift characteristics- counterweight swing-ground surface effect.

Prerequisites

  • Must be 15 years or older

Forklift Endorsement Courses (F)

To gain this endorsement the applicant must hold a current Forklift Operators Certificate plus the appropriate NZ drivers’ licence for the weight of the forklift they intend to operate on the public road.
The course is run to NZTA US18496 standards and is recorded to NZ Drivers Licence requirements.
The applicant must have their NZ Drivers Licence with them on the day of the course for viewing verification
.

DogmanDogman Load Slinging US3789

This course is to US3789 (not recorded) with the following content
Apply knowledge of risk management, hazard control/demonstrate knowledge of the difference between regular and irregular loads, demonstrate crane industry communication methods, and to prepare and sling loads and to safely direct a crane during crane operations.
It also covers and demonstrates safe rigging practises, determining a loads Centre of Gravity, load security, environment effects, structural strength of loads and communication methods including verbal-hand signalling and continuous radio communication.
Rigging planning and the individual companies’ requirements are discussed and demonstrated in the practical session of the course

Truck Mounted Crane - Also known as HIAB operation

The course is designed to teach and show safe working practices for the use of boom or knuckle boom crane that is mounted to a current road worthy truck.
Correct site set up and the use of pallet forks-rotators-slinging-spreaders and various lifting methods and discussed and displayed
Stability triangles-load moment change-horizontal stresses-truck chassis stress and ground surfaces are also covered and discussed
The course is run to US16617-V6 regulations (not recorded) and the attendees are required to show a suitable skill set in the practical use of rigging and lifting various loads and the effect of the load’s behaviour during slewing/lifting to a height

This is an entry-level course for general mechanical engineering and related trades for the safe and correct operating procedures when carrying out lifting operations when using electric overhead hoists-floor cranes-manual and mechanical chain hoist cranes-electric wire rope cranes-small wall mount

The attendees are also instructed on how to inspect rigging equipment plus the crane structure for its safe use.

Wheels, Rollers & Track Endorsement -- US16701, US16702 & US16703

Attendees must hold the correct NZ Drivers Licence relating the vehicle they want to operate with the minimum requirement of class one.
The standards are recorded to the persons licence once gained and is governed by CONNEXIS
Individual unit standards can be gained however the course document covers all the units so attendees are encouraged to gain all three whilst attending the course.
