From 27 January 2026, Commercial Vehicle Safety Centres (CVSCs) across New Zealand are automatically screening for potential work-time breaches in real time. Vehicles passing multiple CVSCs may be directed in for compliance checks if data indicates possible breaches of work-time or rest requirements. The system focuses on early intervention, with exemptions in place for whitelisted vehicles and approved fatigue management systems.
